No refunds will be provided. 575 Dance – This course will illustrate the connection between trauma and its impact on regulation, relationship and academic, social, and behavioral struggles, all while working towards a better understanding of what influences behavior and what behavior is communicating. With better understanding comes a better response, one that supports healing, facilitates connection and builds resilience. This course will offer a working definition of trauma and will explore a simple antidote to the trauma response that is surprisingly at the fingertips of anyone at any time. This experience gives participants the opportunity to put on a trauma sensitive lens and explore the “trauma goggles,” to deepen understanding of the impact of trauma on the mind, body, and soul. A practical overview of basic brain function and impact of trauma on the brain’s organization, function, and structure, especially the stress response system. Free School Supplies for Military Families The Back-to-School Brigade® is an annual nationwide campaign by Operation Homefront that collects and distributes school supplies to eligible dependents of service members. Through this assistance program, military children receive free back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, to help them start the new school year on the right foot. This year’s event is being hosted by the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. Eligibility Post 9/11 wounded, ill, or injured service member of any rank, both currently serving and those no longer serving in the military All ranks, Active Duty, Guard and Reserves, any duty status Transitioning service members within 12 months of their discharge/retirement date.
