New Mexico has a high poverty rate, ranking it the third poorest state in the country.  Wages are not high enough to meet the rising cost of living.  There is a shortage of affordable rental homes available to extremely low income households. Many of these households are severely cost burdened, spending more than half of their income on housing, and a whopping 33% of income on food.

The primary vision is that everyone in Taos County has enough to eat, and has access to nutritious food.
